Director of Strategic Marketing

JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the VP of Global Marketing, the Director of Strategic Marketing will drive growth at Welch Allyn by identifying product and geographic market opportunities and developing, refining and advocating for strategic initiatives to realize them. This position will work closely with Business Development and the SBU leaders and will be engaged cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, R&D and Clinical within Welch Allyn and across Hill Rom Global Business Units.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key responsibilities include global market analysis and competitive landscape for the existing Welch Allyn portfolio, identification of markets (product, segment or geographic) attractive for expansion, and identification and development of new business opportunities and new business models that will drive growth.
This role is highly strategic and highly independent both in terms of pursuit of opportunities and in accountability for developing insight driven and data supported recommendations.
Creates a vision for pursuit of strategic initiatives that support the vision of the company.
Conducts market sensing activities to surface disruptive technologies, new business models, competitive threats and evolving clinical transitions. Keeps up to date on global trends and issues that impact corporate strategy.
Serves as the market expert for inorganic growth opportunities, including acquisitions and partnerships, via target identification / assessment and marketing due diligence. Facilitate inputs required from SBUs as subject matter experts.
Develops and refine strategic initiatives to exploit identified opportunities, including: new business concept synthesis, initial financial modeling, preliminary technology assessment, clinical workflow impact and feasibility.
Advocates for approval of strategic marketing initiatives through the Portfolio Leadership Team meeting with Welch Allyn Executive Leadership.
Provides input for market insight and competitive intelligence generation at the global marketing level.
Provides direction and oversight of market research activities within the Welch Allyn portfolio.
This role manages the ambiguity of looking beyond the existing portfolio and business model
Leads cross category strategies within Welch Allyn and at times in collaboration across Front Line Care and Hill-Rom Corp. Requires strong skills to develop partnerships across the organization to develop and realize goals benefitting the overall organization.
Leverages financial tools/analysis to define strategy and assess opportunities to drive growth, makes decisions within an ROI framework while using strategic skills in financial modeling to support business development opportunities.
Makes recommendations and advocates to FLC leadership team on investments and opportunities. This position is accountable for identifying and developing significant growth opportunities including new categories and new business models.
This position will regularly interact with many levels of the organization including Executive Staff, SBU Leadership, Regional Marketing Leaders, Sales Leaders, R&D, Clinical teams.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
BA/BS or equivalent degree (MBA preferred) and solid marketing experience including global or international strategic marketing experience.
10 years industry or marketing experience in a related field
High level analytical skills required to identify and validate opportunities
Strong collaboration skills needed to communicate, refine and advocate for solutions.
Upstream marketing focus as well as new product development/launch experience.
Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal and experience presenting to a high-level audience.
Medical device or related healthcare industry experience preferred.
Ability to travel minimum 25%

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
